A copper alloy Medieval composite buckle dating from about AD 1330 - 1450. It has an oval frame with a point projecting from the lipped outer edge of the frame. There is an integral forked spacer with a grooved aperture to house the pin which is rectangular in cross-section and looped round the bar. Plain sheet copper alloy top and bottom plates sandwich the spacer and there is a single copper alloy rivet in the centre of the open end. The buckle is 32.2mm long, 11.5mm wide and 4.9mm thick. 3.1g. Compare examples in Egan and Pritchard (1991), page 78 - 82.
