Roman brooch of Colchester derivative, Polden Hill type probably. The copper alloy brooch has semi-cylindrical incomplete wings. The axis bar, spring and pin are missing. At the centre of the upper edge of the wings there is a groove along the wings. The bowhead is slightly hump-like in profile and is decorated with a vertical groove. There are no mouldings on the side of the bow head. The bow is D-shaped in section and tapers to a blunt broken terminal.
The surface of the brooch has an incomplete dark grey patina.
It measures 19.27mm in length, 16.17mm in width, and weighs 3.55g.
The brooch is probably a Polden Hill type, Bayley and Butcher (2004:160) comment that the distribution of Polden Hill brooches are concentrated in the West Midlands.
