Copper alloy and iron buckle. Cast single looped sub-rectangular buckle frame of slightly elongated form with a widened curving outer edge bearing a nick on its inner edge serving as a pin rest. The strap bar is of round section and set back from the rest of the frame. The corroded remains of an iron pin remain wrapped around the strap bar, showing that the buckle was deposited along with its pin, the latter now largely lost to corrosion. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1750-1850.
