A Post-medieval ceramic rim sherd of North Devon gravel tempered ware, probably dating to c. AD 1600-1850+. A very hard fired, fine grained pale orange fabric, oxidised at the surface and margins but with a slightly reduced core in places. Contains an abundant angular quartz temper, <2.5mm. From a storage jar with an everted, beaded rim and internal lid-rest. Wheel thrown with an internal mottled green-brown, solid glaze with a drip on the external surface. Weight: 56.18g.
