Post medieval weight dating to the reign of Charles II (AD 1660 - 1685). Semi-circular in shape, cut down from a larger circular weight. The cut mark passes through a central perforation, probably for suspension. The upper face is stamped with the initials C.II.R surmounted by a single-arched crown within a beaded oval border and two oval recesses indicating a weight of 2oz. It now weighs 55.4g (1.95oz). Presumably cut down from a 4oz weight.
