Copper alloy anti-aircraft shell fragment. A small fragment of a thick casing, thinned to a sharp edge on one side, diminishing in its thickness from this side, and broken raggedly on all other edges. The most distinctive features are a pronounced curvature of the fragment, and a pair of adjacent ridges close to its thinned edge. The ragged fractures have probably been caused by explosive force - such fragmentation would be difficult to achieve using hand-tools. Suggested date: Modern, 1939-1945.
