A very worn and clipped post medieval silver penny of Charles I (AD1625-1649) Group E 1625-1649, Single pellet initial mark and inner circle on the obverse only. Thanks g

Obverse: crowned bust left I behind.

Reverse: Round garnished shield.

The coin appears to have been double struck has been pierced from the obverse to the reverse close to the edge at 6 o clock. The hole is rectangular in shape - possibly made with a rectangular punch or nail head.
