Treasure reference number 2017 T1015: a gold band of unknown date. The band is rectangular in section and appears once to have been oval in plan, perhaps forming a ferrule or fitting from an object such as a pendant or a knife. The hoop is no longer a neat oval, but has been bent inwards on either side in the middle. The length of the ferrule is 32mm and the maximum width is 13mm. The hoop measures 3mm in width and 2.2mm in thickness, It is 2.16g in weight.
The band is of indeterminate date but in the balance of probabilities is over 300 years old and consequently, in terms of age and as the object contains a minimum of 10% precious metal, it qualifies as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996.
