An incomplete copper alloy late Iron Age to early Roman button and loop fastener, dating from c.AD 1-200, Wild Class 3.
The fastener is sub-triangular in plan with one end terminating in a rounded point while the opposite end is straight. In the centre of the object is a circular boss surrounded by a raised cordon. Either side of the central boss is a sub oval, or 'tear shaped' perforation.
A small fragment of blue enamel is visible on the rectangular end of the body of the object.
The back of the head is flat, and the loop or shank projects outwards and upwards, appearing to then fork into two, however, the remainder of the loop is missing.
