Fragment of a cast copper alloy spur bar and terminal, bent in profile and hemispherical in section where the bar is broken. There is a figure-of-eight terminal at right angles to the bar, with three circular rivet holes in a row, to attach to the boot. The central rivet hole is smaller and 4.6 mm in diameter and the outer two holes are 5 mm in diameter. There are two transverse moulded bands between one of the rivet holes in the terminal and the beginnings of the bar. The surface of the spur bar and terminal has partly corroded away but there does not appear to be any more decoration.

Read (2001) illustrates a similar spur on page 65, fig.41, no.501, which is dated from the 17th century.

Bailey (2002) illustrates a similar spur terminal with an angled bar and three rivet holes on page 36, fig.17, which is dated from the 17th century.
