An incomplete cast copper-alloy fragment originating from a sword dating to the Ewart Park metalworking phase of the Late Bronze Age, dating c. 1000-800 BC. The fragment consists the tip of the hilt and upper section of the handle, the latter flaring outwards towards its apex and being broadly 'H' shaped in section due to prominent raised marginal ridges which appear on both sides of the object. The lower surviving edge of the object demonstrates a partial circular perforation, which is incomplete due to an irregular truncation which has removed the rest of the handle and blade. Preserved in good condition with an uneven greenish and brown patina, it survives to a length of 37.42mm,38.54mm wide at its widest point, 18.03mm wide at its lower edge, and 4.42mm thick at its midpoint. It weighs 21.50g.
A similar and more complete fragment of sword is recorded on the PAS database as LIN-C89A75,
