A flint flake of probable late Neolithic or Bronze Age date, c. 3000-1000 BC. A tertiary flake of a orange-brown flint patinated pale biege at the surface. At the proximal end a striking platform and (on the ventral face) relatively large bulb of purcussion, with bulbar scar, survive. A number of flake-like removal scars are present on the dorsal face, with one being hinged. At the proximal end of the dorsal face are a series of hinged removals, these break the patination but have started to repatinate, suggesting that they are not recent but are probably post-depositional. There is evidence of recent damage to the distal end. There is no clear evidence of retouch.

Dimensions: length 40.8mm; width 49.4mm; thickness 9.9mm; weight 19.93g.

It is impossible to date a lone non-diagnostic flake with any degree of certainty, however the broad flake-like removals and probable use of a hard hammer would suggest a date in later prehistory.
