Cast copper alloy mount in the form of a fish, perhaps an applique from a hanging bowl, with convex face with longitudinal arris, hollowed on reverse and with flattened tail. The body has engraved oblique cross-hatching to represent scales and punched dots for eyes, one of which is obscured by corrosion. It is possible that the object is intended to be a salmon, although it lacks clear species specific characteristics. Length 46mm. Width 6.5mm. Thickness 3.5mm. Weighs 3.53g. See Geake 2014, fig. 6 and discussion. 7th century AD.
