A complete copper alloy medieval buckle frame. It is oval in shape with a recessed and narrowed straight strap bar. The curved outer edge is slightly expanded reaching a point in the centre with a transverse groove across its outer face. c.5mm to either side of this groove is a pair of parallel transverse ridges.
It belongs to Meols Type 8, which are of AD 1250-1400 date (Griffiths et al. 2007, fig.2.5.1.)
