A complete copper-alloy vessel mend of medieval to post-medieval date, c.AD 1100 - 1850. The object is formed form a sub-rectangular sheet of metal. The ends of the sheet have been folded into the middle and the very tips bent back outward. This object would have been fitted to a break in a vessel to seal the gap.
The metal has a mid-green patina and is worn. The vessel mend is 43.9mm long, 18.8mm wide, 3.8mm thick and weighs 5.9g
