Post-medieval shoe buckle, oval copper alloy frame with an iron spindle, tongue-shaped chape of folded copper alloy sheet with incomplete iron stud, and an incomplete iron pin. Cf. Whitehead 2003, no. 601, but decorated with multiple radial grooves over all the front face except above the spring housings, and thus bearing some resemblance to ibid. nos. 280 and 284. Frame 20.5 x 16.5mm. Chape 20 x 9mm. Overall length 28mm. c.1660 - c.1720
