Flake 1: A sub-rectangular tertiary flake of Portland chert classed as debitage, produced during the process of lithic reduction. The chert is opaque and mottled mid grey in colour with a mid gloss patina. The dorsal face shows broad flake removal scars with strong rippling. The ventral face shows a low bulb of percussion indicating probable use of a soft hammer.
