Medieval ceramic vessel rim sherd with heavy abrasion. The gritty reduced fabric has an orange buff external face and a light grey core. There are remnants of a yellow green glaze, probably originally a covering glaze. The fabric has a number of inclusions up to 2mm. There are voids, both mostly less than 1mm in size, but with occasional voids up to 8mm x 2mm. Some of these larger voids are the result of the use of grass as a temper. Probably dates from c1200 to c1500 AD, most likely 14th or 15th century. The length is 58mm, width 42mm, thickness 18mm, and the weight 38.7g.
