An incomplete copper alloy fragment of uncertain function. The object is D-shaped in cross-section and sub-rectangular in plan with a rounded terminal. The rounded terminal curves backwards slightly however it is unclear whether this is intentional or due to damage. Above the terminal is a transverse ridge, above this the centre of the object is decorated with four punched circles. Either side of the punched circles are diagonal grooves.
Each end of the object appears to terminate with an ancient break. The rear of the object is undecorated and there are no rivet holes or signs of attachment. The object has a mid-green patina and is in fair condition.
Dimensions: 25mm in length, 9.5mm in width, 2mm thick, 2.9g
The exact function of this object is uncertain due to its fragmentary nature however suggested functions include a strap end and a bracelet terminal.
