A Very poorly cast and copper alloy sprung dolphin brooch that has the remains of a rearwards facing hook at the top of the head that would have held the spring. The front of the brooch has a number of angled ridges on each side but the poor quality of the casting has resulted in the loss of the examples from the right side and giving the brooch an asymmetrical form. The lower part of the bow is truncated resulting in the loss of the catch plate. Date 43-65AD
