Roman copper alloy trumpet brooch that has a sub-oval head plate that is surmounted by a truncated loop. On the reverse are two rearward facing perforated lug that would have held the spring support bar. The bow emanates from the front of the head plate and is undecorated, there would have been a moulded knee but the bow is truncated just before this resulting in the loss of the rest of the bow. Date 75-175AD
