Post-medieval copper alloy hinged book clasp with a triple-scalloped distal end from which the sides narrow before widening past three transverse grooves and a rivet hole to the hinge where two arms are rolled around the ends of a spindle. Stamped decoration comprises closely spaced lines. Cf. NMS-D19CE3 and Margeson 1993, 74-5, pl. XIII. Length 36mm. Width 21.5mm. 16th century.
