A complete copper alloy strap fitting possibly dating to the medieval period (c. AD 1100 - AD 1500).
The main plate is triangular in shape, with two sides of equal length and the longest side at the bottom. The left corner is broken, and the right corner extends into long, rectangular piece of metal. This is now folded behind the main plate and has a circular perforation, followed by a circular insert of the same size. The main triangular plate is decorated with incised lines. There are two parallel lines running down the centre, then pairs of diagonal lines extending away from this.
The metal is worn and light green in colour. The strap fitting is 20.4 mm long, 11.9 mm wide and 0.2 mm thick. It weighs 1.1 g.
