A copper alloy double looped annular buckle of medieval date. The buckle frame is moulded into a floral shape with five notches separating each 'petal'. Each petal is decorated with transverse incised lines. The pin is missing. The rear of the frame is flat and undecorated. The buckle has a mid-green patina and is in good condition.
Dimensions: 28mm in length, 28mm in width, 3mm thick, 6.55g.
A similar example which can be found in Whitehead (2003), p47, no.272 has been dated to c.1450-1550.
