Lead spindle whorl. Cast biconical whorl with a central moulded aperture of diameter 10.6mm; patinated overall. This is probably a homemade version of the biconvex decorated type of whorl ascribed to the early post-medieval period; indistinct traces of faint radial ribs may appear on one side only, possibly the result of secondary recasting using another homemade whorl as master, but probably one taken from a decorated original. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1500-1600.
