Incomplete medieval copper alloy buckle with integrally cast plate dating to the period c. AD 1200 - 1350. The frame is D-shaped, with the outer edge tapering to a point, with a grooved pin rest at the centre. The plate is broadly rectangular, narrowuing into two moulded rectangular tabs at the back. It exhibits a drilled circular hole whcih would have house the pin and a single rivet hole retaiing a large dome-headed rivet with roved-over end. Traces of gilding survive on the front.
