An incomplete post-Medieval copper-alloy double-looped buckle (c. 1570-c. 1700).

The pin is missing.

The frame is rectangular and has two rectangular loops of similar size and shape. At the front, each outer edge is decorated with oblique grooves which are barely visible. The bar is circular in cross-section. The sides are flat at the ends and in side view it is a low 'V' shape.

This buckle frame is green with iron staining and has flecks of a dark green patina.

Length: 30.5mm; width: 46.5mm; overall thickness: 9.2mm; diameter of bar: 3.0mm. Weight: 16.65g.

A similar buckle frame has been published (Whitehead 2003: 74. ref: 456).
