A lead alloy bun shaped, possible steel-yard weight AD 43-1800. The object is circular in plan and oval in cross-section. The bottom surface is curved. The upper surface is flat with a broken iron shaft protuding upwards from the centre.
Iron within lead alloy weights often occurs with steel-yard weights. It has a light white patina.
Weights such as this one can be of Roman through to Georgian in date
The weight measures 22.99 long (including rivet), 19mm diameter, 9.5mm mthick and weighs 21.1 grams.
