An incomplete copper alloy object of Uncertain function of possible Medieval date (AD 1066-1550). The object is sub-rectangular with a squared wing to either side which are recurved, integral and taper inward to there ends. There is a sub-circular section projection from the upper edge. The central portion of the object retains an incised pattern consisting of a chevron and inner dividing, longitudinal line. The back of the object is flatted and the lower portion is missing due to an old and abraded break.
The metal is a mid-green in colour with a predominantly smooth patina.
