A copper alloy post medieval to modern clog clasp inscribed with the motto: GOD SAVE THE KING. It dates from the 18th century and probably refers to George III. The clasp is sub-rectangular with one end rounded. Projecting from the square end is a rectangular tab, now bent back flat against itself. Projecting form the rounded end is an anchor shaped hook, now also bent flat. The front is inscribed with the GOD SAVE THE KING.

There are many clog clasps recorded on the PAS database, and 18th and 19th century clog clasps have also been published (Bailey 1992: 13-17), but none appear to have this motto. Other clasps with propergandist mottoes include SUR-A665E0 and SUR-D8AE6A which call for LIBERTY TO AMERICA.
