An incomplete cast copper-alloy fragment originating from a bracelet/armlet of Roman date, c. 250-410 AD. The fragment consists the lower part of one shoulder, being broadly rectangular in plan and tapering slightly towards the original hooked terminal end (now broken away in old damage). The upper face of the bracelet is ornately decorated with raised panels containing two parallel lines of three annulets each (six in total), alternating with recessed sections that demonstrate a triple concentric annulet-in-double-ring motif. Just prior to the plain basal section of the fragment where the original hooked terminal would have projected, directly following the last panel, is a series of four raised transverse ridges. Preserved in good condition with an even green patina, it survives to a length of 46.29mm, 5.26mm wide by 1.42mm thick at its midpoint, and weighs 2.23g.
This bracelet finds parallels with Crummy's multiple motif bracelets or armlets (see Crummy 1983: nos. 1724-1732) in addition to an example recorded on the PAS database (see record SF-F1CF88).
