Cast lead-alloy spindle whorl, dating from the medieval period (AD1200-1500). The whorl is made up of a central biconical body with moulded decoration. There is a raised band running around the centre of the object and around the central perforation. On both the top and bottom of the whorl is decorate with a zig-zag.The whorl has been squashed giving and internal perforation measurement of 12.95mm by 6.48mm.
