Silver sixpence of William III (1694-1702). Obverse has a laureate bust of the king facing right with the legend GVILIELMVS III DEI GRA. The reverse has crowned shields and the legend MAG BRI FRA ET HIB REX. The date appears to read 1696
The coin is worn smooth on each face and has been bent into a very gentle S shape. These features suggest it was re-used as a love token.
