Copper alloy mount. A pendent mount comprising a triangular plate with its narrow end turned sharply to form a hook, and with a rivet of diameter 1.4mm and length 3.1mm passing through the centre of its broader part. Gilding remains on the display face. Suggested date: Medieval, 1300-1400.

Height: 13.4mm, Width: 7.4mm, Thickness (plate, clear of fixing): 0.6mm, Weight: 0.43gms

Notes:

The finder suggests this to be part of an assemblage amounting to c.5% of material recovered from an extensive site, the rest being removed illicitly without record. Archaeological opinion holds the site to have been of equivalent character to Flixborough, North Lincolnshire, in terms of its material culture. Coins are under-represented in the group.

Class: Pendent
