A cast copper-alloy buckle of Medieval to Post-Medieval date (c. AD 1350 - 1720). The buckle is sub-rectangular in plan and the frame is D-shaped in section. Both loops are sub-oval in plan. The pin has been lost and there is no visible pin rest on the frame. There is a sub-triangular shaped notch on the frame at the termination of the strap bar; the oppsing side of the frame does not have this feature. There is no visible decoration on either face of the buckle. It has a dark green surface patina which has been abraded.

There are similar buckles recorded on this database from South Oxfordshire (BERK-FB6F68), Shropshire (LVPL-569EBC) and Gedling, Nottinghamshire (DENO-DA7B38). Whitehead (1996; p. 52 - 53) dates these buckles to c. AD 1350 - 1720.

It measures 23.97mm in length, 18.63mm in width, 1.64mm thick and it weighs 2.36grams.
