Roman brooch, possibly a T-shaped type: The copper alloy brooch is fragmentary; it has cylindrical wings with a vertical slot on the reverse to allow for the pin, which is missing. The wings contain an iron axis bar. The bow protrudes from the lower edge of the plate, on the outer face which is a slender trapezoid, but is only a trace. The bow tapers to a broken edge. None of the breaks are recent.

The surface of the brooch has an incomplete matte green patina.

The brooch measures 12.77mm long, 25.08mm wide and weighs 3.76g.

The type of brooch is a T-shaped type when considering the cylindrical housing for the axis bar, which probably dates to the 2nd century.

Class: T-shaped
