A Post-Medieval lead cloth seal, probably dating to c. AD 1500-1800. A 2-part seal. Disc 1 is incomplete and stamped with a probable monogram ligating a T with one or more letters, probably an O. The stamp on disc 2 is less clear, it consists of a central straight line over which run a series of crescents, with two smaller crescents on each end, opening outwards, and with three pairs of overlapping, larger opposed crescents along its length. Around this is a noew illegible inscription: [...]Y[...]ALME[...].
Dimensions: length: 28.5mm; width 23.2mm; thickness 2.7mm; weight 8.30g.
No exact parallel for this object has been found, and the unusual design probably respresents a personal seal. BH-48A932, on this database, appears to have a similar disc 2 stamp.
