Two inner discs from an incomplete four-part lead cloth seal of Norfolk dating to AD 1685. The discs have a complete connecting strip on one side which is bent in half to place them back to back and the scar from the loss of the connectng strip on the opposite edge which would have led to another two disks joined by a rivet. One disk is marked 85 encircled by a plain line border with *NORFOLKE around, again in a plain linme border. The other side has a crown within a double border, the inner plain line and outer pelleted. The diameter is 10.5mm and the weight is 1.37g.
NLM-756513 and SUR-A873AA on this database are the same. This design of seal was produced in several areas in the late 17th century, including locally in Taunton, and was probably for serge cloth.
