A fragment of sheet copper-alloy, probably used as a mend for the wall of a late medieval/early post-medieval cooking vessel. The fragment is sub-triangular in plan with a copper-alloy rivet in-situ at the centre. The rivet has a large, sub-circular, flattened head and the shank passes through the sheet where it is broken across. There is a further, empty and damaged rivet hole along one edge of the fragment. Both sides of the sheet have extensive deposits of soot and tar from a fire suggesting it was a part of a cooking vessel.
