A Post-Medieval lead cloth seal, probably dating to c. AD 1550-1800. The seal is incomplete, with only the integral rivet and an adjoining section of the disc from which it expands surviving. The surviving section of the disc depicts a design of an eagle or perhaps more likely, a griffin, advancing left, right foot in front with each talon terminating in a pellet.
Dimensions: length 15.7mm; width 14.4mm; thickness 2.8mm; weight 3.13g.
A similar, but not identical Italian seal can be seen at http://bagseals.org/gallery/main.php/images/main.php?g2_itemId=22861.
