An early-medieval penny of Edward the Confessor, 'bust facing/ small cross' type (BMC xiii), uncertain mint struck by Leof[...], dating to 1062-5. Roughly half of the coin is now missing, due to a recent break. The mint name is difficult to determine and may read NLAE (AE ligated) or NLIE (a possibile variation on the spelling for Lincoln), or something else.
