Incomplete medieval copper alloy composite strap end dating to the period c. AD 1400 - 1500. Part of the terminal of the front plate, it would have originally been crescentic in form and now exhibits a transverse break which has removed approximately one third of the crescent. It exhibits two rivet holes, one of which retains part of a cpper alloy rivet, for atatchment to the missing back plate. The front is engraved with a foliate motif, now heavily worn and exhibits traces of gilding. The rear edge expands into a moulded foliate plate and terminates in an old break.
