An incomplete late Roman to Early Medieval copper alloy strap end. The strap end is an amphora type and dates to 4th - 5th century AD. The strap end is flat and leaf-shaped in form. Above the leaf-shaped body is a rectangular neck which has a worn break at the split attachment end, one side of the split end is missng. On either side of the neck where it meets the body there are crescent-shaped lugs or handles. The body then widens in the centre, before narrowing to a spherical collared knop. On one side there is a four petalled flower shape stamped into the centre of the body. The other side is undecorated. The strap end has a light green patina.
The strap end is 47.6mm in length, 12.1mm wide, 2mm thick and weighs 5.9g. The knop is 4.6mm long and 4.3mm wide.
