An incomplete, copper alloy, single-looped buckle dating to the period AD 1350-AD 1400. Buckle frame survives complete if somewhat bent: pin is missing. The buckle is oval or flattened 'D' shaped with a narrowed offset strap bar. On the opposing edge the buckle has two angled knops which flank a series of transverse ridges. The two innermost ridges flank a deep notch where the pin would have rested.
The buckle has a dark green-brown coloured patina. A near parallel to this buckle is illustrated in Whitehead (2003) page 22, No. 86.
