A complete copper-alloy buckle of Post-Medieval date, c. AD 1500 - 1650. The buckle is a double looped oval with a triangular sectioned strap bar with moulded knops to either end. The pin remains looped around the bar and the reverse is flat and undecorated.
The metal has a dark brown/green patina and is worn. The buckle is 21.9mm long, 17.2mm wide, 2mm thick and weighs 2.2g.
Similar examples are illustrated in Whitehead, p.54 and are dated to circa AD 1500 - 1650.
