A complete Palaeolithic lithic implement of uncertain date.
The implement is sub-oval in plan, broadly sub-triangular in side view and has been 'rolled'. It has been made on a large flake as there may be a striking platform at one end. The dorsal face appears to be retouched around the edge and the removals are short, sub-parallel and semi-abrupt. The ventral face is featureless.
Each face has a patina which is orange as well as buff.
This implement was found at the foot of cliffs in the inter-tidal zone following a cliff fall. It may have derived from the ancient river gravels above.
