A retouched flake in the form of a side and end scraper of probable Neolithic date (c. 4000 - 2350 BC). The piece is oval in shape and has been struck off a tertiary flake as no cortex remains. The bulb of percussion has been removed on the ventral face by retouch. The convex dorsal surface, has two negative flake scars from previous removals which were struck from the same direction as this flake. There is long semi-parallel semi-abrupt retouch down both sides and the proximal end on the dorsal face becoming more abrupt at the proximal end and shorter and more scalar towards the distal end. The flint at the distal end is buff and granualar and possibly a damaged original surface. The proximal end is light grey in colour, opaque and motled. The piece is 53.6mm in length with a width of 36.8mm, and a thickness of 11.5mm. It weighs 24.41g
While scrapers of this form can occur in Mesolithic - Bronza Age assembledges the general dating of associated material suggests a Neolithic date.
