10th century Anglo-Scandinavian copper alloy stirrup mount. The mount is square in plan with an arched top which is broken at the apex. The mount has a flange at the base which extends at right angles to the rear. The mount has a narrow border which extends all around the outer edge. Within the arched top appears to be Odin's Raven with head to the left pecking at the ground and tail to the right. Beneath the ravens body is a small square within a square. From this square there appears to be several arms extending, in a scroll like fashion, to the edge of the mount. The two lower arms each culminate in a ball.
The full extent of this pattern is unclear due to corrosion. There are 13 holes in the mount and there may be up to 5 more, but this number is also unclear due to corrosion. The flange on the base has 2 rivets holes. The flange has been included in the thickness measurement as the main body is too corroded for an exact measurement.
Appears to be a Williams Class A, but does not fall into a type.
