Medieval to Post Medieval (15th to 16th centuries) coin weight: The copper alloy weight is circular in plan and rectangular in section with rounded corners. The weight is uniface, decorated with a heavily abraded ship, any other detail is unclear. The weight has a mid brown patina. It measures 14.08mm diameter, 3.21mm thick and weighs 2.91g.
The use of round weights with representations of a ship were used in the 15th century and 16th centuries (Withers P. & B.R. Lions, Ships and Angels Galata Print. Powys p. 18).
