An incomplete copper-alloy plate brooch, found in two pieces, of Roman date, c.AD 200 - 350. The brooch comprises a central circular plate with two raised concentric rings on the upper surface. Two sub-rectangular arms project from the edge of the plate, approximately 90 degrees from one another. The reverse of one arm houses the corroded remains of a pin hinge. Traces of gilding and decorative detail remain within the circles though cannot be determined due to wear. All edges are extremely worn removing any further diagnostic detail. The metal has a mid-green patina and is worn.
